The range of properties administered and leased in the UAE includes warehouses, showrooms, workshops, offices, villas and apartment buildings. Al Futtaim’s warehousing complex at Rashidia in Dubai, measuring over one million square feet, is by far the largest owned by any company in the Gulf. This is used as a central warehouse for the group, stocking vast quantities of electronic goods, automobiles, commercial vehicles, heavy equipment and inventories of spare parts. The company also has some 200,000 square feet of showroom space and 600,000 square feet of workshops in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Fujairah, Sharjah, Ajman and Umm Al Quwain. Among the largest of these are the showrooms of Al Futtaim Panatech and Al Futtaim Motors in Dubai. About the Position
The purpose of this job is to ensure Financial Management, Reporting, Project management, Tax planning and ensuring Tax compliance across the real estate portfolio of Al Futtaim Real Estate. This includes managing financial accounting, month end closing, control project expenditures, registration / calculation / filing of VAT quarterly return, controlling various Financial and accounting systems and fully engaging with the business to prepare business plan, annual budget, quarterly forecast, monthly variance analysis and MIS reporting across the AFRE portfolio.
This role shall ensure that the Accounting Policies of Al Futtaim are upheld and that all reporting are in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS); supervise and manage the finance team to deliver month end closing for revenue and expense, Group reporting, Regional MIS reporting, Cash flow forecasting and balance sheet integrity; drive the VAT Readiness Project, SAP R/3 System enhancement Project, manage VAT registration / VAT planning / VAT accounting / VAT documentation, Quarterly filing of VAT return and coordinate with Govt. Dept. / Auditors for Queries / VAT Audit respectively; ensure tax compliance for UAE, Oman, Morocco and reporting thereof; analyse and control project expenditures from inception to capitalisation and also manage budgeting and reporting functions for various real estate development projects; preparation of budgets in conjunction with Leasing, Property Management and Facilities Management departments to ensure reliability of the key assumptions.
